Is there a special wash you use before applying?
The levels of protection generated by a special wash would not be significant enough to make it a top priority. A generic version of a special treatment would be more applicable. Machine wash with a scent free detergent, rinse with distilled water, air dry, follow through with the preseason treatment (wet treatment) using distilled water, as opposed to tap water, air dry & then move to a scent free container. All of these extra precautions will give you the highest level of protection achievable. TRUCarbon™ will not lose any of its effectiveness absorbing orders from the washing process or any of its effectiveness absorbing impurities in the water being used in the preseason treatment. But again all of these precautions are not necessary due to the fact that TRUCarbon™ can be reapplied with 100% fresh carbon whenever the hunter chooses, either as a dry or wet treatment. You will find the effectiveness of TRUCarbon™ fresh carbon is incredible, unlike anything you have used in the past. That includes comparing it to a manufactured activated carbon garment. By the time the hunter wears a newly manufactured activated carbon garment it has already been subjected to filtering environments, such as manufacturing, packaging, shipping, store displays, etc. TRUCarbon™ remains 100% activated carbon until it is released from the bottle, and that is when activated carbon is at its highest level of effectiveness.

How long does the bottle last?
As for how long a bottle will last, that is difficult to answer. It’s almost like asking how long a can of soda will last. Some of the variables are how big you are, how hot is it outside, your odor level, whether you shower before you hunt, do you protect your clothing in scent free containers before and after you hunt or how windy it is. One container of TRUCarbon™ will effectively take a whitetail archer through the whitetail rut, about 2 weeks of hard hunting. Now we're not saying that a bottle won't last a hunter through the entire season. Every hunter has their own idea of what level of protection they want. It all comes down to personal choice.
